In the past, you had to choose between a procedure that offered great results but required a long recovery or a procedure with a fast recovery but with just-okay results. Now with HALO®, you get the best of both worlds: beautiful results without the intensive downtime of more aggressive treatments. HALO® combines deep dermal revitalization with epidermal renewal for a combined synergistic effect you can’t get with any other treatment.
HALO high-end skin resurfacing laser combines ablative & non-ablative wavelengths to address multiple levels of skin concerns in one efficient treatment.
Ablative wavelengths target and treat the skin for surface-level conditions such as textural issues and pore size. By creating small thermal injuries in the skin, this kickstarts production of new, healthy skin for visible results in a short period of time.
The non-ablative wavelength targets deeper sun damage and other dermal pigmentary issues. Together, these wavelengths provide both short-term results and long-term benefits to a wide variety of patients.
It's not magic. But it is the most amazing science.
Dynamic Thermal Optimization automatically adjusts the power of each individual laser pulse based on the temperature of your skin. This feature makes HALO the most precise, safe, comfortable, and consistent non-ablative technology on the market.
Enlarged Pores
HALO® laser triggers your body's natural healing response, stimulating the production of new, healthy cells that help reduce the appearance of large pores.
Wrinkles and Fine Lines
HALO® helps stimulate your body's natural healing response, which produces new, healthy skin cells in areas with fine lines or wrinkles, such as crow's feet.
Sun Damage
Patients can expect increased skin reflectivity and radiance after a HALO® treatment specifically tuned for targeting discoloration, sun spots and other visible signs of aging.
Scar Revision
In addition to treating entire areas of the face and body, providers can also fine-tune their HALO® settings to target and reduce the appearance of scar tissue.
Pigmented Lesions
Through HALO's® process of
"dermal remodeling," certain pigmented lesions can be improved for an enhanced skin smoothness.
Acne Scars
HALO's dual wavelength technology can be precisely tuned for targeting acne scars.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How many treatments will I need?
For a "refresh" we recommend one treatment, which can be repeated as you desire. If your goal is to promote collagen for the long term, depending on your age you may want to have a treatment every 1-2 years. If you have fine lines/wrinkles or scars that you're working on, we may come up with a plan for 2-3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Your physician may also combine your treatment with other popular aesthetic procedures to further personalize your treatment.
Ultimately, the number of treatments needed will vary from patient to patient and your dermatologist will personalize a treatment plan based on the level of improvement you desire. We will meet with you before your first treatment to make your plan.
How long does the treatment take?
Treatments are usually 30 to 60 minutes. We have you arrive 30 minutes prior to your treatment to cleanse your skin and apply a gentle numbing cream to make the treatment comfortable. In total, plan to be in our office for 60-90 minutes for most treatment areas.
Will it be uncomfortable?
We use a gentle topical anesthetic cream to make the treatment comfortable.
How does the Halo fit into my skin-care routine?
Regular stimulation of the collagen leads to collagen growth which firms the skin and improves skin texture. Collagen stimulation is key to helping our skin maintain that youthful and healthy appearance that looks and feels natural. Intermittent treatments like the Halo are like strength training for your skin: controlled micro-injuries to the skin promote wound healing and collagen stimulation to give you notable results. Over time, a great product regimen with intermittent procedures gives an impressive change in the quality of the skin. It's worth the downtime to get the Halo.
What should I expect after the treatment?
You will experience redness, some swelling and flaking that lasts on average 3-5 days. For some spots, you will see a darkening of the treated areas followed by fading and flaking off at a later stage. Plan to do this treatment at least 1-2 weeks prior to an event or travel. Patients generally have fresher, smoother skin immediately following the treatment. Skin texture results can take 4-6 weeks to fully evolve as this treatment stimulates collagen growth. Ultimately, results depend on your skin type, the number and depth of treatments and the area treated. Your provider will provide you with complete information about the post-treatment care and results.
How long will it take to recover?
Because this treatment is resurfacing the skin, there is some downtime. There is redness and swelling for 3-4 days on average, with some residual flaking up to 7 days. Plan to do this treatment at least 1-2 weeks prior to an event or travel. While you will have the redness, you are able to return to work, and resume most of your activities immediately.
What aftercare do I need?
It is important to follow your dermatologist’s and esthetic provider's instructions. The aftercare for this procedure is actually quite straightforward. You will need gentle cleansers, moisturizers and LOTS OF SUNBLOCK. We will give you detailed instructions on which products to use following treatment and we'll let you know when it is safe to go back to your usual product regimen. You will be sensitive to ultraviolet light, and you must avoid direct sun exposure until you are completely healed.
